  • Work can be as FUN as a Roller Coaster...

It was a Monday, on 13th Apr 09 when I first stepped into the new environment. "Hi.. reporting for my 1st day.. is Gxxxx around?" That was my 1st conversation with the always smiley, friendly Admin colleague, as my other 2 guy colleagues looked on with a grin. Never did I expect that its gonna be a place that would bring so much blessings, fun & surprises!! Here is where my unexpectedly adventure journey begins....

I met my boss. Went through the assigned job roles and responsibilites. Introduced to other colleagues. I felt a warmth welcome. It was somehow, quite differenet  from the corporate world. I settled in very quickly and begin to know the fun bunch better. Most of them are about 4- 7 years younger than me, fervant Christians serving in different ministries in their own churches. But we share a common passion - To Impact the Lives of people in Singapore by providing CARE and sharing LOVE.

In his new book - Unexpected Adventure, Lee Strobel said that a "Christian," by definition, is a follower of Christ, the one who came "to seek and to save what was lost" (Luke 9:10) and who then commissioned us to follow his example and "go and make disciples" Matt 28:19). We were redeemed, in part, for the purpose of reaching others for Christ. We will never be complete in our experience with God untill we allow him to use us to spread his message to others.

"Our role is to be To Be Ready and Willing - Because God is always Able".

Work can be a mandate if we missed out the purpose and opportunities that God provide along the way. Work can really be a Fun ride of roller coaster, if we know we are doing it to fulfill the great commission - allowing God to use us as He will!

A sneak glimpse into my work, fun colleagues, recent company retreat & outings!!=)

  • Pressing on...Answering His Call!!

I remember how God has called me to take up Social Work few years back and all I did was just 1 thing- that is to answer that call!! The recent corporate retreat has the above words printed on our name tags and I really marvel as I looked back on how God has brought me though this journey of fulfilling my destiny in Him. The place where he has placed me in right now, I just feel so much of his providence and blessings!!

Today cg learnt about trusting God from the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector through Luke 18:9-14. It's really a good teaching delivered by Reina & Pris G. The parable reflects the truth that the self - righteous does not trust God. To trust God is to Obey Him. And to know Him. We need to not just know him in our head knowledge like the Pharisee but to be transformed in my heart and through our life.

Knowing God is to take steps of faith to do what He has called you to do. I'm so glad that I did not allow any doubt to take away this great purpose God has for me and by taking little steps, God has revealed to me that He will guide me through and provide for me whatever I need exceedingly more than I can imagine!!For our God is a God of "how much more" that he would bless his children who loves Him and follow his ways. The recent IDMC is really an "eye-opener" and I hope to share more in the future... n Yes my wonderful colleagues..I will introduce more of them when I have more time...cos I'm really busy these months preparing for wedding and juggling with studies and work!!

A verse I came acrossed today:
      Psa 9:10 -
"Those who know your name will trust in you,
for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you."

  • Work With A Passion!!!

Last week was such an amazing week for me!!Not only I get to work with different groups of people (elderly & destitutes) but also get 1st touch 'experience' as a Social Worker in the making. My colleagues are very helpful and I get to go out with some of them for home visits & conducting investigation at an intake centre for destitues. It was really an "eye- opener" to meet these people who are very much ostracised and neglected in this society.

My job scope deals alot with elderly (running weekly outreach programmes), funding assistance for SPMF and very soon I will take up destitues cases, & writing social reports. My boss has also given me some ad-hoc projects as well. I told God to use me in this place and I want to give my best & my all to glorify Him becos I know He has put me here for a purpose...to serve the needy & the community!

    Company's Mission Guide:

    Matthew 25:35-36

35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
